2013 Edublog Noms

I completely realize I am rapidly encroaching on the deadline for these… but didn’t want to let this app-ortunity slip by without celebrating those exceptional educators that share online:

  • Best individual blog: Terri Eichholz’s Engage Their Minds blog (Terri shares a wealth of resources to support gifted students… and she blogs almost every day! Amazing ideas, tools, and lessons to engage the minds of elementary students at home and at school to instill a love for lifelong learning.)
  • Best group blog: Technology Tailgate (This is such a great feed of amazing primary educators and iLessons – a true treasure trove!)
  • Best new blog: Marianna Husain’s Bobcat Blog (What a great way to champion Bridge Point elementary teachers and their iClassrooms than with thorough and constant posts of celebration.)
  • Best teacher blog: Cathy Yenca’s Mathy Cathy blog (Cathy’s blogs, Thinglinks, and use of Nearpod for formative assessment are purposeful and delightful.)
  • Best library / librarian blog: Carolyn Foote’s Futura blog (This near and dear techno librarian was just honored by the President as a Champion of Change and I am delighted to work a mere corridor away from her expertise.)
  • Best administrator blog: Carl Hooker’s Hooked on Innovation (Carl Hooker and his vision for transforming education and the classroom was truly the reason I left my former job and moved to Austin to be an iVenger – his posts are honest gems filled with wit and personality.)
  • Best twitter hashtag: #iPaded
  • Best free web tool: Thinglink 😉
  • Best educational wiki: Carnazzos Class Wiki  (Lisa Carnazzo does such an amazing job of showcasing her class and their learning to parents and the world alike – her Wiki is a well designed and organized garden of home grown iLessons blooming with authentic student work.)
  • Best mobile app: Haiku Deck (which is now also available for the web)
